Double hung windows and casement windows were the topics of our last conversation. While those are easily the most common choices homeowners tend to make when selecting a replacement window, they are by no means the only ones. Today we’ll look at some of the more exotic and unconventional styles offered. In fact, should you find your curiosity piqued after reading this article I’d like to invite you to our RI Home Improvement showroom to take in the majesty of our signature Protec windows—currently available in all the amazing styles which will be discussed today.

One of my personal favorites is the sliding window. Also known as gliding windows, these windows slide horizontally to allow maximum air flow from top to bottom. These windows are great to throw open during a breezy summer afternoon, allowing the scents of freshly cut grass and blooming flowers to permeate through your home. Since sliding windows do not open outward they’re ideal for rooms facing decks and patios.

Awning windows are another style that will bring a unique flair to the table. Awning windows swing out from a hinge fixed at the top of the window. Usually paired with stationary windows, awnings are great for providing scenic views. Another aspect of the awning that makes for a fun time is opening them during a rain storm. If you enjoy falling asleep to the sounds of a seasonal spring shower then I would suggest installing awning windows in your bedroom as soon as possible. The RIHI Protec awning window will not only save you energy, but will also make sleeping during those downpours much more pleasurable.

There are still a few stragglers we have yet to meet from the replacement window family. I’m sure we’ll find space and time for them, but until then—call us at 401-739-1001 for your own personal introduction to some of these lovely windows. Whatever your taste should fancy, RIHI has the perfect window option to suit you and your home.
