Flipping the calendar to August always means it’s time to prepare for the Charlestown Seafood fest. One of our favorite local events to participate in, the Seafood Fest is a three-day onslaught of food, fun, music, and entertainment—all of which can be experienced for only $8! You’d also be hard pressed to find another venue serving the scope of ocean-themed delicacies that Rhode Island offers. You’ll have much more than food awaiting you this weekend, however, especially for you music fans.
Seafoodies rejoice! The Charlestown Seafood Fest will satiate the most discriminating pallets. An absolute parade of our state’s finest seafood will be on display all weekend. Fresh lobsters, steamers, clam cakes, and a vast raw bar await you. You’ll also have New England (white), Manhattan (red), clear, and seafood chowder from which to choose. Not sure which chowder to dive into first? Sample them all—we won’t judge! Just remember, once you’ve filled up on food you’ll want to stop by our RIHI Remote Kiosk—especially if this week’s weather macroburst left your roof in rough shape. Seafood explosion aside, Ninigret Park will be bursting with the color and sounds of many local artists. Relive the glorious 1980s Saturday night with two talented tribute bands. While Dirty Deeds spends the evening hammering home your AC/DC favorites, The Aquanettes are certain to set the stage ablaze with all the songs you remember from MTV (when MTV actually played music videos). You’ll be sure to hear the likes of Poison, Warrant, Slaughter, and perhaps even a Winger tune or two.
