womensexpoThis one’s for you, ladies. While we normally discuss matters of vinyl siding, replacement windows and the exciting world of gutter protection, today’s talk will center on some of the finer things in life—such as wine tastings and fashion shows. With a statement like that it can only mean one thing: The Southern New England Women’s Expo must be upon us. The female members of our RIHI Remote Team always look forward to this one, as we’ll set up our kiosk right alongside the likes of Christian Louboutin and Manolo Blahnik. Between the vino, live entertainment, and eclectic seminars, the Women’s Expo always provides a great time for all those in attendance.

Taking place this weekend at the Twin River Casino, The Women’s Expo will feature a full slate of fun—beginning with a collection of culinary virtuosos. Saturday and Sunday will showcase numerous local chefs sharing their secrets surrounding such favorites as Caribbean jerk chicken empanadas, lobster campanelle, and jalapeno with chickpea veggie burgers. Don’t forget to grab a few smoked Gouda beer cheese burger sliders if you’re there on Sunday. And for dessert, Twin River’s very own pastry chef, Victoria Kenyon, will spoil you with her dark chocolate pots de crème. Just typing this paragraph has given me food coma.

Once you’ve tasted some of the delicacies mentioned above, it may be time to start thinking about some cardio. Wander over to the San Shou Martial Arts demonstration and enjoy some ladies kickboxing, Krav Maga, and Tai Chi. San Shou also offers kid’s Kung Fu classes for tykes of any age. If you’re looking for more kicks, check out local comedian Maya Manion—whose resume includes a stint on America’s Funniest Mom and a strong finish in Mohegan Sun’s Funniest Comic in New England competition.

So, grab your girlfriends, grab a glass of Pinot Grigio and meet us at the show! You can’t miss us. Just hunt around until you find the roofing shingles nestled between the Louis Vitton bags and Michael Korrs shoes.
