sicWe have easily one of our biggest—and favorite—weekends of the year on deck, and it all begins tomorrow. Columbus Day weekend never disappoints, as Rhode Island offers some of the best festivals and fairs around this time of year.  The RIHI Remote Team will be spread out over the state this weekend, talking to festive homeowners about how to make their homes more energy efficient before winter creeps up on us. Without further ado, let’s look at where you can find us.

Woonsocket Autumnfest

We’ll start in Woonsocket where the foliage has already peaked. The Autumnfest features some of the best bands and beer gardens Blackstone Valley has to offer.  You should also know that a group of living statues will be on display. I wouldn’t want you to think your mind was playing tricks on you should you discover a gargoyle sculpture waving as you pass by. Once you stop by our booth and check out the latest in replacement window technology, feel free to enjoy the Big Nazo life-sized puppets and some great oldies courtesy of Kings Row and The Reminisants.

Scituate Art Fest

A Rhode Island staple since 1967, the Scituate Art Festival brings creative art work together with great entertainment, and this year is no exception.  Nestled within one of the coziest and most picturesque corners of our state, you’ll enjoy hours of leaf peeping and brilliant craftsmanship—not to mention amazing music.  Stop in on Sunday and experience opposite ends of the sound spectrum with the Nightlife Orchestra followed by The RI Rednecks. Personally, I’d like to see these outfits come together for a nice big band-country horn driven hoedown.

Federal Hill Festival

Foodies rejoice! Few festivals can compete with Federal Hill’s Columbus Day Weekend. We’ll skip the entertainment for this one because if done properly, your food-induced coma will not allow you to focus on anything outside the delicacies showcased.  Just dive in and succumb to the onslaught of Italian dishes and pastries lining the Hill before settling in with a hot cappuccino on DePasquale Square.  I’m sure the RIHI Remote Team wouldn’t mind if you dropped off some sausage and peppers when you stop in to investigate the latest Protec roofing shingles.
